Some of the memories that I treasure the most are having coffee with my mother in law when we visited. The one thing that was a real treat for me was drinking it out of her coffee cups. They were made of china, but so dainty and beautiful.
The idea of drinking coffee out of a heavy mug has never appealed to me. Don’t know why, but I still like coffee out of a nice coffee cup.
So when my mother-in-law passed away, I was asked if there was anything that I would like to have to remember her by. Well of course, it was the 4 coffee cups and 1 saucer that she had left from what I am sure was once a beautiful set.
Because they are so fragile, I rarely take them out and actually use them. But the other day, I decided to take one out and have a cup of coffee in her honor.
When I drink coffee from this cup I remember her beauty, love of family and genuine goodness. What do you have in your home that brings back beautiful memories?

Very pretty. Do you ever check for lead when buying new cups? I never thought about it until a friend to me that it might be a good idea.

I have not Debbie. But I may do that. Even if they didn’t match, but had the same look, I’d be happy. Thanks for the suggestion. I guess I’ll Google Vintage Coffee cups. Any other suggestions?
Wonderful memory! I have the bowl that mom used when she made dumplings. The “children” know that her bowl is the secret to the traditional dumplings they love!
Glad you enjoyed. Now are your dumplings like the ones we make. Dropped in chicken stew? My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Hope all is well.
I have small treasures from different times in my life, including a beer mug made for me by my mother, about 25 years ago. She has been gone for about 15 years so it is a special mug that I don’t drink out of.

Thanks so much for sharing your memory. Loved your chocolate blog. My favorite subject.
Thanks for sharing your happy memories. I have my grandma’s cake stand, it hardly ever was used only for very very special occasions. I have it on display so I can enjoy looking it every day.

Glad it brought back memories for you. Wonderful that you have your grandmother’s bowl. I have to find a way to display my coffee cups. I don’t let anyone use them. Sounds a little selfish, but I want to pass them on to my children.
Sounds like you treasure your grandma’s cake stand as much as I love those coffee cups.
Lovely little bit of treasure, thank you for sharing
